ABOUT THE OWNERS

I have been raising cavies for fourteen years now, it all started with a rescue from the local pet shelter, it was an American TSW sow, I named her Sweetie, I know not too original, but I was eight With her in hand I joined the South Malahat 4H Club and was member for eight years, president for two of those years.

My first showable cavy was an American Short Haired black and white boar named Checkers, bought from Jody Mitchell. There the door was opened to me, to this wonderful world of showing cavies. Jody, I want to personally thank you for many things, not the least of, was your patience with me, I was a energy filled, non-stop chattering box full of questions, comments and ideas. You showed me how to care for these lovely animals, how to assess their qualities and how to be patient, record every thing and to most importantly enjoy them and myself through this adventure. For all of that I am eternally grateful. Well that was twelve years ago and since then my Mom and I have bred American Short Haired and have recently added to our breeding program the American Satin. Now after five years working on Black and Golden Agouti Americans we have decided to try a new breed.  We have TSW Americans and will be trying to develop Golden Agouti/Red and White Satin Americans. In the ticked animals we often get dilutes, my mom's favorites. Out of the Agouti lines we will often have dilutes and solids. So come on in and enjoy.
